This free workshop focuses on building awareness among about clinical trials. People impacted by cancer and their loved ones are invited to join us as we learn how these trials are structured, and how to foster an open dialogue with their health care team about the eligibility and the viability of clinical trials as a treatment option. In addition, participants will learn about the importance of shared decision making and will be introduced to resources to help facilitate these conversations.

Light refreshments will be served.

Brene Brown's book is an answer to the many people who have asked her how to survive serious setbacks in their lives. This four week book club will examine how Brown's work can be applied to those impacted by cancer, either as the person with the diagnosis or as a loved one.

The class will be an introduction to the ancient technique of encaustic painting with beeswax and pigment.  We will be using canvas boards which provide a stiff support. We will use color in the form of oil pastels and participants may incorporate ribbons or leaves or magazine pictures or other flat items into the wax.  Participants should bring items to use if desired.  The pictures can be drawn with pencil or more collage like .   All supplies will be provided.
