Come connect, explore feelings, and participate in a hands-on interactive art workshop. Artist Mallory Shotwell invites breast cancer patients, survivors, and those with high risk/genetic predisposition for breast cancer to make pieces that will be in
an art exhibition that visually describes the breast cancer experience. Part of a multi-city, one-year artistic project on breast cancer and its effects. Learn more about the project here.
What You'll Need:
- Any kind of paper, pencils, and pens. If desired, participants may also use colored pencils, collage, watercolor, oil pastels, or other art mediums.
About Mallory Shotwell:
Mallory Shotwell is an interdisciplinary artist and arts educator. In her art practice, she
works with storytelling/interview, audio, photography, and video to share stories based on a theme. She majored in English at Aquinas College in Michigan, and later French and Elementary Education at Edgewood College in Madison. She worked as a public
school teacher in Michigan and as a Montessori teacher in Madison. In her teaching practice, she utilizes multiple learning styles to serve and respect people's needs.
