"Being Mortal" Frontline Screening & Discussion Location: Johnson Creek Cancer Center, 250 Doctors Ct, Johnson Creek, WI 53038

Gilda's Club Madison and the UW Cancer Center - in collaboration with Fort HealthCare, Rainbow Hospice Care, and Watertown Regional Medical Center - invite you to attend a free screening and discussion of the PBS Frontline documentary "Being Mortal" on Monday, April 17th from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the UW Cancer Center in Johnson Creek. You will be part of a national dialogue taking place in our community that asks "Have you and your family had the tough conversations and planned ahead?"

"Being Mortal" delves into the hopes of patients and families facing terminal illness. The film investigates the practice of caring for the dying and explores the relationships between patients and their doctors. It follows Dr. Atul Gawande, a surgeon, as he shares stories from the people and families he encounters. When Dr. Gawande's own father gets cancer, his search for answers about how to best care for the dying becomes a personal quest.

After the screening, Rainbow Hospice Care's Michael Bernhagen, Emmy-nominated producer of the "Consider the Conversation" PBS film series, will facilitate a discussion centered around important questions raised by "Being Mortal" and tell the audience how they can take concrete steps to identify and communicate wishes about end-of-life goals and preferences.
