Sing Me A Story: Write Yours (OPEN TO THE PUBLIC)

Sing Me a Story is a national program that combines the imaginations of teens and children with the talents of songwriters to create stories and songs that bring joy for all those involved.

Here's how it works:

1. Teens/kids will attend a writing workshop at Gilda's Club on Saturday, May 7th from 10-11:30 am. Facilitators will help participants tap into their creative voice through writing exercises and games. Participants will go home and write their story, which can be about ANYTHING!

2. Participants can upload their stories to the Sing Me a Story website (with parental consent) and those stories are distributed to songwriters who in turn write a song, record it, and send it back to the participant.

3. Sing Me a Story campaigns are also created for each song that is uploaded to the website in an effort to raise money for the partnering organization (Gilda's Club).

As an extra added bonus, some local songs will be chosen to be performed at this year's Summerfest!
