This class combines gentle movement, strength-building exercises, and social connection to help improve bone health, boost energy levels, and combat cancer-related fatigue. Each session focuses on safe, effective techniques to strengthen bones and enhance overall vitality while offering a nurturing environment where participants can connect, share, and support one another along their life journey.

Led by occupational therapy students, the class fosters a sense of community and belonging, helping participants regain strength, confidence, and resilience. About Our Instructors

Emily DeBoer, OTS

Hello everyone!! I am currently an occupational therapy student in my third year at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. I will be graduating in May 2025! I am from the suburbs of Chicago and went to North Park University for my bachelor's degree in Exercise Science from 2018-2022. During this last semester of grad school, I have been focusing my work on cancer-related fatigue, its impacts, best practices, and education for people who have it as a part of my capstone project with the UW Carbone Cancer Center. I am excited to get to work with you all and hear your stories! I am so blessed to be a part of Gilda’s club.

Brooke Bossert, OTS, ACSM-CPT

Hello everyone! My name is Brooke, and I’m also a third-year Doctorate of Occupational Therapy student at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, set to graduate this May. I come from a small town in central Illinois called Dwight. I earned my Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science from Illinois State University in 2021. Shortly before graduating, I obtained my personal training certification through the American College of Sports Medicine and spent a gap year working full-time as a personal trainer!

During my graduate studies in Madison, I've continued to work as a personal trainer at Crunch Fitness and the YMCA. In my final semester, I've been dedicated to a project at the UW Carbone Cancer Center focused on promoting bone health in individuals living with cancer. I'm thrilled to bring this expertise to a setting as special as Gilda’s Club. I look forward to meeting you and applying my knowledge and skills to support your health and well-being!
