Therapeutic Art: Strength and Support: Tree Metaphor Location: Zoom

Description:

Join fellow Gilda's Club members for an art group dedicated to strength and support. Discuss and explore the strengths and supports that you possess in your life.

Create an artwork of a tree to represent you. We will add descriptions and symbols of things that give you strength. On our leaves we will add things we want to change.

Share and discuss with the group!

Materials You'll Need:

Choose from the following three options*:

Option 1:

  • Modeling clay (any brand)

Option 2:

  • Paper
  • Drawing materials such as markers, colored pencils, oil pastels or chalk pastels

Option 3:

  • Paper
  • Paint (kind of your choice)
  • Paintbrushes
  • Water (to dip brushes)

*Any other materials of your choice that you have available

About Molly Linn-Miller:

Molly Linn-Miller has been working as a registered art therapist for 13 years. She provides art therapy and support for both individuals and groups.

She works with a variety of populations and ages including families living with cancer, those recovering from substance abuse, adults with living with autism, memory loss and other mental illness, and pre-school aged children.

Molly also paints large scale children’s murals and makes collages using a variety of traditional and non-traditional materials. In addition to art-making she enjoys spending time with her husband and two boys, cooking and eating food with her girlfriends, hiking and playing ultimate frisbee.
