Every Thursday @ 9am - 9:30am via Zoom
A short (14 minute) practice to breathe, move start your day off.
Baduanjin (Eight Pieces of Brocade or Eight Skilken Movements) is one of the most common forms of Tai Chi exercise that serves to improve human health. A complete Baduanjin includes eight separate exercises, each addressing a different physical area
and qi meridian. In traditional Chinese Medicine, meridians support the flow of qi and other fundamental substances in the body.
There are both standing and seated versions of Baduanjin in history, but the standing version is more popular among modern practitioners. Studies show that practicing Baduanjin regularly is beneficial for quality of life, sleep quality, balance, handgrip
strength, trunk flexibility, systolic and diastolic blood pressure, and resting heart rate.

Knitting can decrease stress, increase self-esteem, and improve focus and memory. It is not about performance or perfection. Gilda's KnitKarma Club serves as a welcome opportunity to experience the health benefits of knitting while finding friendship
along the way.
All fiber artists are welcome! Crochet, embroidery, slow stitching, you name it!
Bring your own project, or we have yarn, needles and ideas. All skill levels are welcome.
From our instructor Shari Porte "I began knitting in my 30's. Over the years, I have knitted many sweaters that are a bit oversized, scarves that are a tad too long, and gloves that are fingerless. I am an above average knitter but not a master knitter. Present day, I like to keep it simpler and knit straightforward scarves while I stream. I am looking forward to meeting up with other knitters, marveling at their choices of color and texture, and helping to rescue a dropped stitch or two :-)"

Money Considerations When Working with Cancer
Time
6:30 PM
Location
Virtual - assigned links
Weds, Dec 4 @ 6:30 - 7:30 pm CT
via Zoom
A cancer diagnosis can quickly disrupt future financial plans and lead to significant financial burden. The financial burden of cancer is so well recognized, even in the medical community, that its negative effects have been referred to as “financial
toxicity.” Knowing where to start with personal finances can be daunting, knowing where to start with personal finances with a cancer diagnosis paralyzing. A cancer diagnosis can require nontraditional financial planning and knowledge of unique strategies
to reduce the financial burden of a diagnosis. Join Certified Financial Planner ™, Jay Neary, as he explores some of these more common nontraditional strategies that he has come across in his work with individuals with cancer. Topics to be explored include
accessing retirement funds early and tax efficiently, investment withdrawal planning, reviewing employer (group) benefits, and utilizing life insurance as a resource. Family Attorney Megann Hendrix, from Sage Legal Group, will talk about legal strategies of wills, living wills and more. Chris McArdel, from MKE Benefits will talk about options when your employer sponsored insurance ends. There will also be time for discussion and questions.

Cooking Class: Delicious Desserts - Sesame Halva & Amaretti Cookies
Time
11:00 AM
Location
Virtual - assigned links
Friday, December 6 @ 11am Central via Zoom
Description:
Join this online cooking class where Chef Michael Solovey will teach us how to make Sesame Halva and Chocolate Amaretti Cookies. You can follow along and cook during class, or just observe as a lecture.
What You'll Need:
- - Ingredients & Prep: If you’ll be cooking this dish along with the chef during class: Read through the Recipe Packet (PDF), purchase any ingredients you need, and complete the prep work before class begins.
About Chef Michael Solovey:
Chef Michael Solovey started cooking at a young age under the tutelage of his Mother, a refined,
self-taught culinarian. He would later graduate magna cum laude from Le Cordon Bleu at Scottsdale Culinary Institute before moving to Shanghai, China in 2008. Over the course of five years working in the food and beverage industry in Asia, Chef Michael
played various roles in opening 24 food and beverage establishments including his very own Eastern European inspired restaurant, Bloc.
In the past seven years, Michael has served as Resident Chef for Sur La Table and Chef/Cooking School Director for The Boelter Companies in Glendale, Wisconsin. He is now the owner of Sage Harvest Cooking School.
He has taught over 1,800 classes to over 10,000 students. His pedagogy implements approachable science to help his students understand why different cooking techniques render a variety of results in the kitchen; all for the sake of developing students'
culinary instinct. Although Chef Michael personally writes and curates all of the recipes used in his classes, his approach is decidedly anti-recipe as his aim is to empower everyone from the novice foodie to the seasoned industry professional to
take confident control of their diet, health, and wellness by cooking amazing food.

Cooking Class: Potato Knishes
Time
6:00 PM
Location
Virtual - assigned links
Wednesday, December 18 @ 6pm Central via Zoom
Description:
Join this online cooking class where Chef Michael Solovey will teach us how to make Potato Knishes.

Knit Karma
Time

Wednesdays @1:30-2:30pm
In Person at Gilda's Club
Knitting can decrease stress, increase self-esteem, and improve focus and memory. It is not about performance or perfection. Gilda's Knit Karma Club serves as a welcome opportunity to experience the health benefits of knitting while finding friendship
along the way.
All fiber artists are welcome! Crochet, embroidery, slow stitching, you name it! Snag a beverage, perhaps a snack and join us.

Cooking Class: Squash Soup
Time
6:00 PM
Location
Virtual - assigned links
Wednesday, January 22 @ 6pm Central via Zoom
Description:
Join this online cooking class where Chef Michael Solovey will teach us how to make a delicious squash soup. You can follow along and cook during class, or just observe as a lecture.
What You'll Need:
- - Ingredients & Prep: If you’ll be cooking this dish along with the chef during class: Read through the Recipe Packet (PDF),
purchase any ingredients you need, and complete the prep work before class begins.

Cooking Class: Lentil Soup
Time

Location
Virtual - assigned links
Thursday, January 30 @ 6pm Central via Zoom
Description:
Join this online cooking class where Chef Michael Solovey will teach us how to make lentil soup.

Knit Karma

Knit Karma
Time
1:30 PM
Wednesdays @1:30-2:30pm
In Person at Gilda's Club
Knitting can decrease stress, increase self-esteem, and improve focus and memory. It is not about performance or perfection. Gilda's Knit Karma Club serves as a welcome opportunity to experience the health benefits of knitting while finding friendship
along the way.
All fiber artists are welcome! Crochet, embroidery, slow stitching, you name it! Snag a beverage, perhaps a snack and join us.
